Background on Baumblatts.

In 1817 in Theilheim are the following Baumblats:
Mardochaeus Falck Baumblatt (Merchandise and Cut)
Abraham Lazarus Baumblatt (peddler)
Moises Jacob Baumblatt (cattle dealer and butchers)

During the First World War the following fell out of the Jewish community: Felix Finke (born February 9, 1881 in Theilheim, lived in Essen before 1914, found November 3, 1917), Hugo Freudenthal (born November 26, 1885 in Theilheim, lived in Memmingen before 1914, born 22.8.1917), Otto Baumblatt (born 14.5.1888 in Theilheim, before 1914 in Würzburg, died 20.12.1915).

Around 1924, when 78 Jewish parishioners were counted (15.6% of about 500), the heads of the parish were S. Rosenbaum, Justin Fleischmann, M. Klau, L. Lehmann, E. Baumblatt, I. Finke, S. Freudenthal , As a teacher, cantor and Schochet F. Weinstock worked. He then gave eight Jewish children religious education. The community belonged to the district rabbinate Schweinfurt. In 1932 the heads were Justin Fleischmann (1st chairman) and Ludwig Vorchheimer (2nd chairman). As a secretary teacher is called Weinstock. At Jewish associations there were the Chewrah Kadisha (charity and funeral society, 1932 under the direction of S. Rosenbaum) and the women's association Chewras Noschim (charity of women, 1932 under the direction of Ms. S. Rosenbaum). In the school year 1932/33, twelve children received Jewish religious instruction.

Baumblatts resident in Theilheim and / or for a long time were killed during the National Socialist era (according to the lists of Yad Vashem, Jerusalem and the information in the "Gedenkbuches - Victims of the Persecution of the Jews under National Socialist Tyranny in Germany 1933-1945 "): Lore Baumblatt (1924), Malchen (Malka) Baumblatt (1877), Minna (Mirjam) born Grünebaum Baumblatt (1874), Irma Klau born Baumblatt (1896), Klara Kleemann born Baumblatt (1869).
