- He joined the army in 1916 but states he had been in the Navy at one time before WW1 According to his army record he work in India and China. The army paid for his passage back from Shanghai , China to the UK. After the war he went back to India with his family to work before they settled in Ireland.

2 Jan 1919 Final Discharge in Thetford. Address given as Brook House, Sutton, Nr. Sandy, Bedfordshire. Indicates he severed in France. It appears as the service paid for him to come back to England to join the army the paid for his return trip. But it seems he went to India instead.

Maureen married a Patrick Joseph Kennedy in Limerick in 1938 (The Marriage Cert with James Watling as Father of the Bride. He was working for the ESB (Irish Electricity Board) as an Cable Joiner working on the Electrification of Ireland at Shannon .
He died in Limerick aged 65yrs on 13.12.43. The press cutting of his death from the local Limerick Paper.
