877 The 1841 census is a bit confusing and could mean there was a previous marriage. William is together with Mary Kemp, of about the same age as him, and two children James (7) and Robert (1).

Robert is in the Gro as Hambling as mothers name. The Gro does not go back as far as James. We need to check the parish registers.

885 The Ipswich Journal (Ipswich, England), Saturday, August 2, 1862

Sudden Death at the Union. - An Inquest was held at the Union House, on Tuesday, before S.B. Jackaman, Esq., Coroner, on the Body of Charles Pulfer, aged 45, an inmate of the Workhouse. The deceased was admitted in May last, and had been ailing, but not sufficiently to cause him to be olaced on the sick ward. Deceased appeared to be as well as usual, on Moday morning, but directly after dinner the master (Mr. Crispin) was appraised that he was taken in a fit. Deceased was perfectly helpless, and medical assistance was immmediately sent for, and Dr. Fegan, assisted to the house-surgeon (Mr. Elliston) attended and administered medicine to the desceased, and remained with him for about two hours; but as the symptoms gradually became worse Dr. Fegan called in Mr. Gull. Deceased was not sensible after he was taken, and died about seven o'clock the same evening. Dr Fegan said he could not account for the cause of death, although some of the symptoms were such as would be caused by poison. The inquest was therefore, adjourned to the evening, to allow Dr. Fegan to make a post motem examination of the deceased, when that genteman stated that he had been assisted in the examination by Mr. Gull, and they were of the opnion that death was caused by an effusion of blood into the ventricle of the brain. Verdict accordingly.
